Amelia Pattinson
BA (Hons) Fine Art , year 3, University of Cumbria
Based in Carlisle
Amelia Pattinson is captivated by the joining of two-dimensional and three- dimensional practices. In her current practice, Pattinson blends oil pastels and steel challenging the traditional definitions of both art forms. Her current use of metal provides a reflective, tactile nature, allowing the audience to engage both physically and emotionally.
Pattinson is currently investigating the loss of recognition in oneself as a direct impact of mental illness. Her work stands as a compelling exploration into contemporary issues of identity and change, providing insights of empowerment and healing. Pulling in her own experiences with agoraphobia, Pattinson reflects on the relationship between one’s idea of self and world.
